Restoring Faith in a Race

I'm not a racist - let me make that completely clear. I have white friends I have black friends I have Asian friends I have Indian friends, but I live near a very ghetto area.
There is a group of African Americans at my bus stop (high school) who constantly litter, throw trash around, cuss at each other, I stay away from them. They don't bother me and i don't bother them.

One day, as I'm standing at the bus stop, the group is on the other side of the street under a umbrella (it's raining.)

I can hear their conversation but pay no attention.

A few minutes later an old woman walks by paying no attention to them. One of the young black men walks over to her, hugs her, says "I love you mom" loud enough for everyone to hear, then walks away. Then he turns to his friends and says "Man I love my mom."

This gave me some faith in what they acted like. They weren't all bad, they hearts.
